We understand that the Council, and their (eventual!) developer partners place great value on the attraction of the Wyke Beck valley and its surrounding green space. It is essential that that area is not eaten into but is protecteed and enhanced no matter how long the Easel plans take to come along. A ‘bus load’ of us from the communitty side have been down to Sheffield, Manor and Castle estates, and seen what can be achieved, even on sites where development has been delayed! We were pleased to be invitd to discuss this with you on your programme 29 July 2008, and disappointed not to have seen any subsequent mention. Given the emphasis we, the community side, place on not only providing, but being able to sustain/maintain, future quality urban greenspace ‘parkland’ for people in east Leeds we feel that we merit a mention! – Our community partnership initiative is gaining recognition for what it is about at a time when circumstances are delaying the promised regeneration. – Come on, get on board with us and help us take things forward!
